A. No. However, you do need Administrator status to install the .NET Framework.

A. From Windows Vista onward, Microsoft does not allow users to write to the Program Files folders. The unavailable menu items are the ones that want to do this, so they are grayed out. If WC3 is not installed in a Program Files folder, then these menu items become availble. Common places to install WC3 to avoid this problem are: the root directory of C:, the desktop, an external hard drive, or a thumb drive.

A. The Windows operating system file, Ariel.ttf, which should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS\Fonts, is missing. You need to copy it either from the initial Windows installation disks, or from an existing Windows machine.

A. This is a compatibility issue between XP and the NET Framework, unrelated to Win CASIE III. Try the following:

  1. Right click on the Win CASIE III shortcut on the desktop and select Properties.
  2. Open the tab "Compatibility".
  3. Uncheck all the boxes.
  4. Select "Apply".
  5. Run Win CASIE III.

A. Yes. In Win CASIE III it can be found under the menu items Intial Resources > Access Forms > WinCASIE III Manual.

A. You can Remove an IOC provided that the number of segments has not changed. You cannot remove an IOC if, after adding it, you then Add A Segment or Split A Segment. Thus, if your IOC suggests the subject is not in the search area, you should consider Adding A Segment to the search area before Adding An IOC.

A. You can load a Resource Allocation Table file provided that the number of segments has not changed. Thus, you cannot load an RAA file if, after creating it, you then Add A Segment or Split A Segment.
